Foundation of a company for the trade, installation and service of water and waste water treatment plants in Düsseldorf-Eller/Germany.
1980
Licence is granted by the State Department for Labor Protection Wuppertal for working in radiation rooms according to the applicable Law on Radiation Protection.
1985
Move into a new  business building in Erkrath near Düsseldorf with facilities for design and engineering, pre-fabrication of equipment and plant components as well as assembly of electrical control units.
1989
The membratec department is established for the manufacturing and trade of membrane engineered plant components. Years of experience in the manufacturing and maintenance of plants for the treatment of water-endangering fluids are backed up by inspection and certification to be professional enterprise according to WHG §19l (Water Resources Act).
1992
The subsidiary WAT Installation Group GmbH is founded in Schönwalde near Berlin focusing its activities on general pipeline construction and services for WAT-membratec plants in the newly-formed German states.
1994
Takeover and integration of Schlömer+Czapp a mechanical manufacturing company for turned and milled parts made of plastics. The range of manufacturing comprises both special turned parts for the water and waste water treatment and housings and adaptors for the membrane and measurement and control instrumentation engineering. This transaction resulted in considerably less time of response to demands on plant construction and customer service.
1995
WAT-membratec becomes an apprentice company. Since then young apprentices are continuously trained towards power electronics technician, draughtsman and process engineering technician.
2002
The perpetual high quality level of WAT-membratec is certified by reorganization and regular audits of the quality assurance management according to ISO 9001:2000.
2004
Thanks to the integration of the drinking, process and boiler feedwater business segments of the KYLL Wasseraufbereitung in Bergisch Gladbach these areas at WAT-membratec are subject to a substantial strengthening in both plant engineering and trade and service. WAT-membratec becomes member of the Deutschen Gesellschaft für Membrantechnik e. V. (German Association for Membrane Technology ).
